What clothes should we bring?
- Neutral, camo or khaki-coloured hunting clothes, including long pants.
- Camo is illegal in all African countries. But not in South Africa
- Woolen socks, well - worn boots or suitable walking shoes.
- Sweaters, a warm jacket and hat or cap.
What caliber rifle should I bring?
- We recommend 7mm or bigger for plains game and .375 or bigger for any of the Big Five.
- Maximum of 3 rifles per hunter
- Rounds of ammunition will depend on the duration of the safari and the number of animals you want to hunt. Sixty rounds per rifle should be a good average.
- A temporary import / export permit for rifles will be issued upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport ( O.R Tambo )
What documentation should I bring with?
- Passport
- Rifle licenses or copies there of
- Import permits
- Inoculation certificate you get from your doctor if necessary
- Please remember to bring your own medicine
- Invitation letter form hunting outfitter
- Certain species require a CITES permit. You will need to obtain a CITES permit before you can export your trophy. Please contact your local agricultural / wildlife authority.
What else should I bring?
- Sunscreen lotion and insect repellent
- Electrical adapter 220-110 volts - appliances in South Africa use 220 volts.
- Don’t forget your camera and / or video camera, batteries and flash light
- Bring good binoculars
Should we have Insurance?
Yes, we strongly suggest hunters to take out travel- cancellations and personal insurance, hunting can be a dangerous activity. All hunters will be expected to sign an agreement / hunting contract as part of the booking of the hunt. This will also include an indemnity against Inyala Hunting & Outfitting Safaris, or anyone working for them.
